Meet Tynan Kid Ryan Hogan
By Kevin Devlin

His favorite food is cheese pizzas. His favorite color is red. His favorite professional athletes are Albert Pujols of the Los Angeles Angels, Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers and Nathan Horton of the Boston Bruins.

In the world of sports, Ryan loves playing baseball and basketball. He started playing baseball in the South Boston Little League T-Ball division and next summer will be playing in the majors. He plays third base and enjoys the action.

“I have fun,” he said. “I have a lot of enthusiasm for the game and love it when I get a hit.

Ryan also plays basketball in the Gate of Heaven CYO program. Last year his house league coaches were young Paul Hogan (his cousin) and young Sean Monahan.  His travel team coaches were old Sean Monahan and Marc Iannaco. Someday he would like to be a professional hoop player.

“I read about the legends, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan,” he said. “And hope to be a legend myself.”In his leisure time, Ryan plays catch football and wiffle ball with his brother Matt. He enjoys going to the Walsh and Tynan gyms to play basketball. He has a blast in the Tynan “Fun in the Sun Program.” And, he really loves it when he has an opportunity to swim in his grandfather’s pool.

If he was the President of the United States, Ryan would, “…Pass a law so everyone is equal and treated in the same way. I would also have our air planes flying all around the world to protect us from terrorists.”
