ATM Card Compromise
|
I read your article concerning two South Boston residents whose ATM cards were used in Chicago. I would like to share my experience with you.
Today, Monday, March 29, 2006, when I tried to use my Bank of America ATM Card, it was rejected as invalid. The bank officer explained that my card might have been compromised at a third party location so Bank of America immediately closed it and issued me a new one by mail. I know where I used my card last week and over the weekend. Unfortunately, all of my purchases were local. It is sad to think that my card might have been compromised either in South Boston or at South Bay. I don’t know if I am a victim of the Chicago scheme but I did want to let you know that something is definitely amiss. I appreciate Bank of America’s vigilance and I am happy that they acted immediately to invalidate my card.
You are welcome to use my information but I do request that you keep my identity confidential to avoid further compromises.

Looking for Help
Boston is in dire need of a dog park. I live in Southie and I have two small dogs that love to play ball. Myself and many other dog owners in the community face the daily challenge of where we can take our pooches without incurring a $100.00 fine for not having them on a leash. Have you ever tried to play ball with your dog on a leash? It is extremely difficult. Park rangers harass us all the time, and people are at a loss for what to do. I understand that the city doesn't want all of their parks littered with dog poo, but most of us are responsible dog owners just trying to get our furry friends some exercise. As the nicer weather begins to set in the Rangers come out in full force, and we dog owners are left confused as to what the city would like us to do with our bouncy playmates. In New York they have dog parks, specially designed for the dog enthusiast where dogs can socialize and play ball-- Boston doesn't have this luxury. I guess I was figuring with the influx of Barneys we might be able to accept some of New York's better ideas. Please help me to spread the word (and idea) of bringing a dog park to Boston, we promise to clean up after them, we just want a safe place to let them play.
Thank you for your help
