After the holiday interlude, the Gate of Heaven and Saint Brigid’s leagues are back in action

Niamh Flaherty scored six points, and Holly Cuddahy, along with Hannah Powers, added four points apiece, to pace their team to victory against the girls from Dorchester.

Down 25-15 with 6:02 on the game clock, the Gatey high school squad went on an incredible14-0 run, to win the game, stunning their foe from Roslindale. Holly Provenzano had a tremendous outing as she netted 15 points while Taylor Kehoe contributed 7 points.

The talent-laden sixth grade boys’ team remained undefeated with a rout of their suburban opponent. Matt Beggan scored 16 points, and Matt “Neezo” Nee had 12 points. Brian Hurley and Oliver Benner netted 10 points apiece while Greg Lally added eight points. Joey “The Man” Sweeney, a crowd favorite at all times, finished with four points.

The Gatey high school boys’ squad handily defeated their foe from Dorchester up at the famed Hall. Colby Miller scored 10 points, while Jesse Cox, Dennis Buckley, and Nick Provenzano had 9 points each.

Coach Joe “Jumpin” Kelly and Linda ‘The Hoop Guru” Chapin’s squad cruised to a convincing victory against the girls from Dorchester. Katie O’Brien scored 10 points while Holly Provenzano and Molly Casper had 8 and 6 points respectively.

Colby Miller scored 12 points, while Ryan England and Dennis Buckley contributed 11 points each in this hard-fought win.

Brian Hurley and Matt Beggan netted 15 and 13 points respectively to coast to a satisfying win against the boys from Dot. Quick and slick point guard Brian Fitzgerald also had another terrific game as he scored eight points.

Gatey defeated their foe from Quincy in dramatic fashion. Dennis Buckley netted 15 points and Jesse Cox added 10 points.

Matt “Neezo” Nee was unstoppable as he netted 21 points, including one trey, to pace his club to another victory. Brain Fitzgerald came to play (again) and finished with 10 points. This team will probably go undefeated and end the season on a championship note, stay tuned.

Paced by Kristen Miller’s 16 points and Britany Barret’s 6 points, Lori Miller’s team went home with a great victory against a tremendous team. For Purple Power, Gabrielle Ruiz finished with 20 points.

Christine Joyce scored 10 points and Katelyn Coe had 4 points in this hard-fought tilt. For Coach LaRussa’s hoop troops, Rachel Forcione had four points.

Dominic Ventresca and Jackie Higgins netted eight points apiece, while Liam Donovan, Timothy Hayes, and Greg “The Swish Man” Arthur contributed six points each. Eagles’ guards Danny O’Connell and Jake Thomas had four points each.

Matt “The Cat” Greeley netted 13 points and Kyle Pollard had 8 points to lead their team to victory. For the Tarheels, Liam Attridge scored 12 points while Drew Dixon finished with 6 points.
