South Boston Police Report

     January 13, 2006

     About 8:20 p.m. officers were patrolling the area of Sterling Square observed a group of youths sitting on the benches one them drinking alcohol. A half gallon bottle of Vodka and a six pack of Smirnoff Ice bottles were found next to the benches. One youth was placed under arrest and transported to district six for booking.

     January 14, 2006

     About 8:17 p.m. officers responded to 334 Dorchester Street for an armed robbery in progress at the Vivian Mini Market. Victim stated suspect entered the store and came behind the counter showing a large knife. Suspect grabbed the victim purse and fled the store. Officers broadcasted a description of the suspect and searched the area. Officers found the purse outside 19 Patterson Way. Victim reports no money was in the purse, just personal papers. District six detectives will be investigating.

     January 15, 2006

     About 5:19 a.m. officers responded to 47 Mercer Street for a report of a stabbing inside the building. Victim reports his girlfriend ex-husband broke into the apartment and stabbed him several times. The suspect while assaulting the victim stated “you’re in bed with my wife”. Suspect then fled the apartment in an unknown direction. District six detectives will be investigating.

     January 16, 2006

     About 10:30 a.m. officers responded to 59 ‘B’ Street for a report of a person with a knife. Witness stated he was called by a female friend to help her because she was being assaulted inside her apartment. Witness went to the apartment and the suspect showed a knife and threatened to stab him if he did not leave. Officer’s went to the apartment and knocked on the door several times but no answer. The witness had the victim’s telephone number and tried to call her, but no answer. Officers heard the telephone ringing inside the apartment, but no answer. Officer’s requested the Boston Fire Department respond for a forced entry into the apartment. Once inside the officer’s found the victim conscious but bleeding from a swollen lip. She was also visibly shaking and afraid. Officers searched the apartment and found the suspect hiding under a bed.Suspect placed under arrest and transported to district six for booking. Victim refused medical attention.

     January 17, 2006

     About 1:56 p.m. officer’s responded to 63 Boston Street at the Marriot Hotel Parking lot for a B&E to a motor vehicle. Victim reports when she returned to her vehicle she found the drivers door lock missing. She also observed the rear passenger window smashed. Missing was the vehicles radio and a small coach brand bag. Owner will secure her vehicle.

     January 20, 2006

     Last night at 6:53pm, officers from District 6 in South Boston responded to 180 O’Callaghan Way on a report of three light skinned males black males flattening tires with ice picks. With the assistance of Boston Housing Authority Police Officers, the District 6 officers located three individuals at Logan Way and O’Callaghan Way fitting the description of the suspects provided by witnesses. All three suspects were positively identified as puncturing four tires on four different motor vehicles in the area. Two of the three suspects were found to be in possession of knives. Police arrested 17-year-old Cesar Cruz, of Randolph and two 16-year-old males from Boston. All three will be arraigned in South Boston District Court for Malicious Destruction of Personal Property on Monday morning.
