|Win a $100 Dollar Bill from South Boston Online
South Boston Online announces an Essay Contest for its young readers. The topic: “What I Did During My Summer Vacation.” The prizes: Crisp, new $100 bills for each of the two best entries – one from elementary school (Grades 1 to 5); one from middle school (Grades 6 to 8).
You can enter our Essay Contest at the booth we’ll be setting up for the Street Festival on Saturday, September 9, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. It’s easy to register – just stop by the South Boston Online booth at 663 East Broadway for a minute, anytime during the Festival.
Your submission should be between 250 and 500 words. For your guidance, one double-spaced, typewritten page is approximately 250 words long. Handwritten entries are also acceptable, but please remember that your handwriting must be legible.
The deadline for submitting your essays is Friday, September 29, at 5 p.m. You can mail them to 663 East Broadway, e-mail them to firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop them off at our office. Essays will be judged by the staff at South Boston Online; the staff’s decisions will be final. We will publish the two winning essays, along with pictures of their authors, in our October 12 issue.
No relatives of the South Boston Online staff are eligible to participate in the Essay Contest
