Another Sunday Sweep!
By Bob Ferrara

The Boys 15 & Under Team started the day off at noon vs. Norwood. Norwood tested Southie right from the start with a quick goal, but Southie got the wake up call and came out scoring. Dennis Buckley had two goals, Brian Alessandro, Mike Fleming, Teddy Downs, Tim Cooney and Ryan England all had a goal each.

Anthony Puccio had another great game in net. The stellar defense was led by Joe Liesiecki, Kyle Holmes and Kyle McNally. The final score was 8-1 Southie. The 15 & Under Boys are now 2-0 on the season.

The 13 & Under Boys team played next vs. Norwood. This was another well played game by the Southie squad. Norwood struck first with a goal at 20 seconds into the game. Southie then tightened up their defense and shut down Norwood the rest of the day. Leo Stapleton led the way again with great goal tending. The defense was led by Freddy O'Brien, Matt Maloney and Richard Errico. Southie's offense kicked into gear scoring 9 unanswered goals for a 9-1 victory. Goals were scored by Eddie McGuire, Sean Provenzano, Alex Zallaway, Matt Keogh, Jackie Higgins Patrick Sheehan, John Evans and Mike Ducoing. The 13 & Under team is now 2-0 on the early season.

The 11 & Under Boys finished off the day with a hard fought game. Coach Peter Liesiecki has many first year players on this years team, but you would think these youngsters were veterans by the way they played. Southie scoring was lead by Nicholas Hicks with 2 goals; Liam Attridge 2 goals; Matt Morris and Braeden Kerins had one goal each. Liam Donovan played great in between the pipes. The tenacious defense was lead by Brendan Kelly, Aaron Forde, Danny John and Connor Sullivan. Southie came away with their third win of the day by a score of 6-3.

Next weeks games are away against West Roxbury's Parkway Pirates Lacrosse program at Catholic Memorial's home field. The games this Sunday April 17, are as follows: Boys 15 & Under 1p.m., 13 & Under 2:30p.m. and 11 & Under 4p.m. Keep up the good work kids!
