     Mackenzie Bumpus age 8 is the daughter of Kerry and Jon Bumpus and the sister of Johnnie of South Boston. One of her main activities are karate classes at Ultimate Self Defense and Performance Center, where she recently placed second in both the Form and Sparring competition tournament. She has won a total of 12 trophies and medals during her three and a half years of training. Instructor Andrea Muccini often calls upon Mackenzie to demonstrate the many forms to the younger students.

     Mackenzie spends a lot of time at the Boys and Girls Club, and recently made the swim team. She also enjoys playing street hockey and shooting hoops at the Club. Her good friend, Andrew, is generally the first to call her after school to talk about her Pokemon Card collection. Mackenzie likes watching "Trading Spaces-Boys vs. Girls" on TV while munching her favorite food Nachos and Tacos. She also goes fishing with her dad whenever she can.

     Mackenzie is a student at St. Mary's School, who loves Social Studies, and English class and dreams of becoming a teacher someday. Her mom Kerry says, "Mackenzie is a great kid! She always has a positive attitude towards everything and everyone. Mackenzie has such a great imagination and is so much fun to be around!"

     Mackenzie's favorite musical artist is Hilary Duff.  If she ever became President she would give everyone money. She likes wearing Sketchers sneakers and would to travel to Arizona and California. Finally, Mackenzie would like to send a special thank you to her Nana and Uncle Mike for all they have done for her.
