Meet David Duffley

     David Duffley age 9 of South Boston is the son of David and Shannon Duffley and has one sister, Kayla. David attends the Murphy School in Dorchester and his favorite subject is Science and he recently won a Science award in his grade level. David is involved in a number of sports around town and is currently attending Ultimate Self Defense Karate. His favorite sports moment came last month when he attainted his green belt. Andrea Muccini of Ultimate Self Defense told Online “David is a two year student who has been consistent with his training. He always contributes in class and is progressing rapidly toward a black belt someday soon”. At last years PAL karate tournament David placed second in both the forms and sparring events.


      David often hears from his good friend Sean Nagle after school and they enjoy playing video games, like Paper Mario, and collecting baseball cards while eating his favorite meal Taco’s. David also loves to play basketball and plays on a St. Brigid’s house team coached by his dad. He also plays in the Gate of Heaven house league this year after completing two years of Instructional League. David has in addition played South Boston youth soccer and hockey the last few years.


      David aspires to follow in his dad’s footsteps and work with the railway system and become a train engineer, he collects HO scale model trains. “My wife and I are very proud of David’s accomplishments, especially the hard work he put into achieving his green belt”. David would like to meet his favorite football player Tedy Bruschi and if given $100.00 to spend at the mall it would be on an Ipod. He says the best part about living in Southie is all the beaches and a dream vacation would be to travel to Africa.
David would like to thank his mom and dad for all they have done for him and also his Nana, Helen Duffley.
