The 2005-2006 South Boston Boys and Girls Club swim season is underway and as usual, it's always a fun time down at the Club. The swim team has already competed against Charlestown, the Dan Marr Club in Dorchester, Woburn, and Billerica.
On December 10, the team will battle Roxbury and Worcester at home, and then on December 17, the girls and boys travel to Taunton. On January 7, they will compete against Chelsea at home, and then travel to the West End House on January 14 and to Watertown on January 28.
The Boys and Girls Club Sectional Championships and the Boston Swim Club Invitational Meet will be held in early February. The dates have not yet been finalized.
But this will not be the end to their exciting season. On March 25 and 26, the team will compete in the New Jersey Invitational Meet held in Union, New Jersey. And then, the 13 through 15 age group swimmers will travel south to swim in the coveted Boys and Girls Club National Championships to be held in Saint Petersburg, Florida, in April. Swimmers must have qualifying times to be invited to this prestigious event.
