Monet Dugan

Monet Dugan is a 12-year-old, first-year, seventh grade student at Boston Latin School. Monet has adjusted very well at Boston Latin, after attending Gate of Heaven Grammar School. She received an Approbation (Honor Roll) in her first term, and her favorite subject this year is Science.

Monet is the daughter of Gino and Gina Dugan of South Boston. She has one sister, Ayla, a Boston Latin senior. Her favorite sport is basketball.  She has played in the CYO program at Gatey Hall for the past three years, manning the point guard position. When not playing hoop she loves hanging with her three friends Katie, Leisa, and Katlyn. Going shopping at the Mall for the latest styles is another favorite activity. Monet looks up to her parents and really enjoys her mom and dads delicious home cooking.

Monets mom, Gina, tells Online “Monet is a hard-working dedicated young lady. She enjoys the diversity at Boston Latin School. This has allowed Monet to become friends with children from all across the city”. Typical of a young woman, Monet has many dreams and goals.  She aspires to go to Law School and become a lawyer. We asked Monet if she were president, what would be her first act. She said she would build a better school system and make living conditions for all much better. Quite impressive!

Monets favorite stop at the mall is Aeropostale.  She prefers to wear Timberland boots to sneakers. She would love to meet Red Sox outfielder Gabe Kapler “because he’s cute”! Monet recommends “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” as a very funny movie. Someday, Monet wants to travel across Europe and visit the diverse cultures and learn new languages.

Finally, Monet is grateful to live in such a great place as Southie. She treasures her many friends and would like to say “thank you” to God, her parents and her entire family for everything they have done for her.
