| Oh Well, It Was Only a Game |

With the incessant turnovers – five, in total – it was obvious the Pats would lose. They actually outgained the Broncos by well over 100 yards, and the time of possession was about equal. But the only stat that counts in the playoffs is turnovers – 9 out of 10 times, the team with fewer turnovers wins in playoff games, no matter what else happens.
The game was fairly exciting until the fourth quarter. However, it wasn’t anything compared to the nail-biter put on by the Steelers over the Colts the next day.
The crowds were philosophical about the Patriot’s loss. They seemed to enjoy the evening and each other’s company, at what is a very nice spectrum of places to go around the old hometown. Certainly, there were no poor losers. A good time was had by all.
