Social services agency Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Boston (CCAB) today announced that current deputy director of South Boston’s Catholic Charities Labouré Center Jake Bombard has been named its new director effective July 12, 2016. Bombard will succeed longtime director Sr. Maryadele Robinson, who joined Catholic Charities Labouré Center in 1988 and led the organization through a period of significant evolution. Sr. Maryadele Robinson will remain at Labouré and become involved in direct service, while continuing to help raise funds to support its programs. According to CCAB President, Deborah Kincade Rambo, LICSW, “Jake’s political experience and strong ties to the South Boston community makes him a tremendous asset to our team. We are proud to have him as our new Director of Catholic Charities Labouré Center and would like to take this opportunity to thank Sr. Maryadele for her strong leadership and steadfast commitment to the Center for the past 28 years.” In his new position, Bombard will be responsible for the administration and fundraising efforts for diverse social service and educational programs serving more than 3,000 children, teens, adults, and elders in South Boston and surrounding communities. “As someone who has once benefited from the important services that the Catholic Charities Labouré Center provides, I’m thrilled to be given this opportunity to lead the Center,” said Bombard. “I look forward to continue working with a great staff that is committed to providing essential support services to our clients and advocating for those who need our help.” Prior to joining Catholic Charities, Bombard was Chief of Staff in the Office of State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, where he managed legislative staff and supervised all aspects of Senator Forry’s administrative, legislative and community-based endeavors. Bombard holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary and is currently a master’s degree candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
