You have heard that Joseph “Dodo” Nee died this week. He fought a long and a largely successful battle against his illness, but it finally overcame him. His death is a great and very sad loss to the South Boston community. Residents of our beautiful neighborhood saw Dodo everywhere; he took part in our lives with great joy. We have chosen a photo from South Boston Online’s archives that shows Dodo (to the left) as we would like to remember him – with his friends, taking part in a fundraiser, a “Southie time” for the South Boston Collaborative Center, one of his favorite and most successful community projects.
