The South Boston Community Development Corporation and the Boston Redevelopment Authority hosted a neighborhood meeting on March 3 about the proposed elderly housing on an unused Boston Housing Authority lot on O’Connor Way. The 20 or so attendees included abutters and members of Andrew Square Civic Association, BHA and architects for the SBNDC.

The project proposes 47 residence units. While there is no question that affordable housing, especially for the elderly, is a critical need in Boston, zoning exemptions and permissions will be required. The BRA’s comment period on this project ends, Friday, March 11.
