By Ginger DeShaney The BioBus was in South Boston Saturday, April 30, and will be back tomorrow, May 1, in conjunction with the City Nature Challenge, a four-day international bio blitz, said Rachel Vincent, a biological science technician with the National Park Service. In a joint effort between the New York-based BioBus, the National Park Service, Boston Harbor Now, and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, the bus is parked in Moakley Park across from the Carson Beach Bath House. The bus will be open tomorrow, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The City Nature Challenge started April 29 and continues through Monday, May 2. The teens, all fully vaccinated, spearheaded a video/social media project to encourage other teens to get vaccinated after discovering that many of their peers and classmates were still not vaccinated against the virus. Michael Indresano, of Indresano Productions donated his studio time and talent to help the teens bring their vision to reality. They are hopeful their message will be heard and heeded.  The “Teens Talking to Teens About the COVID Vaccine” video/social media project was spearheaded by the South Boston Community Health Center Youth Ambassadors in collaboration with the South Boston Neighborhood House and the Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club. Stephanie Chace, nutritional literacy coordinator for Boston Public Library and organizer of its Spice Bank Collective, is on a mission to change that.  “It’s an idea I’ve carried with me for a very long time, probably 8 or 10 years,” she said. “Whenever I would see a call-out for a food pantry for people to donate, you would see the list of things that most pantries were looking for; nonperishables was ultimately the final message.
