The event was sponsored by the DCR, the South Boston Youth Hockey League, Comcast and Mass Bay Credit Union. On Thursday, March 10, the Boston Center for Youth and Families sponsored a luncheon for seniors at the Condon Community Center. BCYF staff at the Condon organized the event and happily served those seniors in attendance. Boston City Councilor Billy Linehan came by and sang a couple of Irish songs. Boston at-large councilors Anissa Essaibi George and Mike Flaherty came by to wish the seniors a happy St. Patrick’s Day. Councilor Flaherty asked the group why they were being served Italian food at an Irish event. I guess they really didn’t care because the food was so tasty. The South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (South Boston NDC) will hold its 14th annual Taste of South Boston on Sunday, April 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Seaport Hotel.
